Author Guidelines
Authors are requested to read all guidelines carefully before preparing and submitting a manuscript. Non-compliance with the guidelines may result in a manuscript being returned to authors prior to peer review.
1. General Submission Requirements
All manuscripts submitted to GAJBPS must satisfy the following general requirements:
- Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English.
- Submissions must be original and must not have been published previously, or be under simultaneous consideration at another journal or conference.
- All authors must have made a substantive intellectual contribution to the work, in accordance with established authorship criteria (see ICMJE recommendations).
- All research must have been conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards.
- Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's official online submission portal.
2. Manuscript Preparation
2.1 Language & Style
- British or American English is acceptable, provided it is consistent throughout.
- Avoid abbreviations in the title and abstract unless universally accepted.
- Define all abbreviations at first use in the main text.
- Use standard SI units throughout; non-SI units may be provided parenthetically.
2.2 File Format
- Manuscript text: Microsoft Word (.docx) or compatible format.
- Figures: TIFF, EPS, or high-resolution PDF (minimum 300 DPI for halftones; 600 DPI for line art).
- Tables must be editable (not submitted as images).
- Supplementary data may be submitted as separate files.
2.3 Manuscript Structure — Original Research Article

| Introduction | Scientific context, rationale, and specific objectives. Should end with a clear statement of the study's aims. |
| Materials & Methods | Reproducible detail of all experimental procedures. Ethics approvals, reagent sources, statistical methods. |
| Results | Objective presentation of findings. Figures and tables cited sequentially. No interpretation. |
| Discussion | Interpretation in context of existing literature. Limitations acknowledged. Do not repeat Results. |
| Conclusion | Brief summary of principal findings and implications. No new data. |
| Acknowledgements | Funding, non-author contributions, technical assistance. |
| Conflict of Interest | Mandatory declaration by all authors. |
| References | Vancouver numbered style. See Section 5 below. |
| Tables | At end of manuscript, or in a separate file. Each with a caption. |
| Figures | Submitted as separate high-resolution files. Captions provided in a list. |
2.4 Word Limits

3. Title Page Requirements
- Full manuscript title (maximum 20 words; no abbreviations unless universal).
- Short running title (maximum 60 characters including spaces).
- Full names of all authors (no initials for first names; include surnames in full).
- Complete institutional affiliations for each author, including department, institution, city, and country.
- ORCID iD for each author (registration at orcid.org is free and encouraged for all authors).
- Name, institutional address, e-mail address, and telephone number of the corresponding author.
- Total word count (text only, excluding abstract, references, tables, and figure legends).
- Number of figures and tables.
- Funding statement: Sources of funding for the research described. If no external funding was received, state: "This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."
- Conflict of interest statement (see Ethics section).
4. Figures & Tables
Figures
- All figures must be of sufficient resolution for publication: minimum 300 DPI (halftones/photographs) or 600 DPI (line art).
- Acceptable formats: TIFF, EPS, high-resolution PDF. Figures embedded in Word documents are not acceptable as final art.
- Figures must be numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, …) and cited in the text in order.
- Figure legends must be self-contained — a reader should understand the figure without consulting the main text.
- Scale bars must appear directly in micrographs; magnification in legends alone is not acceptable.
- Colour figures will be published in colour online at no additional charge. Authors should confirm whether colour is required.
- Composite figures (panels) should be labelled A, B, C, etc.
Tables
- Tables must be submitted in editable format (Word table; not as images).
- Each table must have a concise, descriptive title above the table body.
- Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lowercase letters.
- Statistical significance should be indicated per standard conventions and defined in the table footnote.
5. Reference Style
GAJBPS uses the APreference style, consistent with recommendations for biomedical publications. References are numbered sequentially in the order they first appear in the text, using superscript numerals.
